Nail Your Look

Nothing boosts a girl's spirits more than a fresh mani. After going 9 years without nail polish, due to attending a private school with a strict uniform policy, I have made a hobby out of doing my nails to my hearts desire. My nails have become one of my favorite accessories. Don't consider your mani just a mani, it's an accessory. Play with nail art, experiment, let yourself mood show through your nails.
Here are some of my recent designs:
Essie: Mint Candy Apple with Daisies using Maybelline Colorshow: Porcelain Party and Sally Hansen HD Color: Yellow

Captain America Nails for 4th of July using Essie: Butler Please (blue), Essie: Russian Roulette (red), and Maybelline Colorshow: Porcelein Party.

Boho Gold Tip using: Essie: Nude Attitude and OPI Skyfall Collection: Goldeneye

Nail it.

Go-to Summer Shoe

Summer consists of iced tea, swimming, and a good read on the beach or by the pool. Let's face it, summer consists of slipping on a pair of flip flops and going out. We ladies really depend on flip flops over the summer! They're easy to slide on, comfy, and come in a variety of colors and super cute prints. Just a few weeks before my Sophomore year of high school ended, I lost my very dependable black and white polka dot GAP flip flops. I was devastated, but these flip flops lasted me a good year.
Point of story: It's time for a new pair. As I search for a new pair of flip flops, I'm looking for durability ( I don't need another pair breaking on me), comfort (in between the toe blisters blow), and, of course, the cuteness factor (they're your summer shoe you've got to adore them). I think the raved about Havaianas would be would be worth the splurge. Ranging from 18-40 dollars, these flip flops are durable and come in different pops of color, neutrals, metallics, and adorable prints. Sounds like the perfect flip flop! As I search for my perfect pair, I wish you the best of luck on finding your go-to summer shoe!
Happy Summer!

Nominated for a Liebster Award!

Hello lovelies!
My fellow blogger and sister-from-another-mister, Nikki, recently nominated me for a Liebster award. It's pretty much an opportunity for small bloggers to help each other out. It's a "tag" where I answer some questions Nikki asked me. At the end of the post, I will ask some questions and tag other small bloggers to answer them. So let's get on with the questions!

Nikki asked:
Q. Do you use liquid or powder foundation?
A. I use BB cream, which is of a liquid consistency. It's a little lighter weight than your average liquid foundation.

Q. What's your dream job?
A. I'd love to work for a fashion magazine some day, definitely Seventeen or Teen Vogue. I'd love to write fashion, beauty, and healthy eating articles directed to teenagers and young women alike.

Q. Do you live on a land-locked or coastal state?
A. Coastal! East coast baby!

Q. What's your favorite app to use on your phone and why?
A. I'm not team Iphone (shocker right?), but I have apps on my Ipod Touch. I'd say my top two favorites are Instagram and Pinterest. I am a regular pinner on Pinterest. Follow me! http://www.pinterest.com/Style4Awhile/

Q. What's your favorite "cheat"/unhealthy food? The greasier the better!
A. We Jasmins are known for our food. I love french fries and fried dough, but I have to say ice cream kills me. I am a constant ice cream eater. Cookie dough or vanilla soft serve with sprinkles is my favorite.

Q. Do you use coupons/look for deals when you shop?
A. Constantly! I am one who is scared to splurge. I always look for discount promo codes or coupons in the paper or in magazines. I am a huge discount shopper. Most of the time I won't spend over twenty on one item if I can.

Q. What is the most visited website on your browser?
A. Gmail. I am always looking at my email whether for school or to go on my school newspaper's email to check if any articles were sent in for me to edit. I also go on my email to check to see if any stores sent me any sale notifications or coupons (Sephora Insider free gifts?).

Q. Who's your icon in the blogging/youtube sphere?
A. For Youtube, Bethany Mota. She is a huge inspiration for any youtubers out there and for any girl who wishes to make it in the fashion/beauty world. She's inspiring because she helps build confidence in girls and is always helping other causes.
For bloggers, Lauren Conrad. Her blog is excellent. I absolutely adore her sense of style and her overall positive outlook on life. She is girly and so chic. Love her.

Q. What's your dream concert line up?
A. I love all types of music, but I love country music concerts. My ideal concert lineup would be Gloriana, Luke Bryan, and Keith Urban.

Q. What's your favorite piece of clothing you own?
A. That's so hard. If I had to pick one, it'd be one of the new dresses I bought. I recently got this white dress with a blue tribal print. It's fit and flare with a sweetheart neckline, a  thin blue braided belt around the waist, and the back is this gorgeous criss-cross. Absolutely stunning. Can't wait to wear it.

That's all of my answers. Thank you for tagging me Nikki! Check out Nikki's blog at: http://dsdstyle.blogspot.com/

I tag:
Ashley and Amanda, bohomeetsworld.wordpress.com

Questions for them:
1. What's your favorite movie of all time?
2. What song, to you, never gets old?
3. Lipstick, lip gloss, or lip balm?
4. Go to makeup product?
4. If you could change the world in one way, what would you do?
5. What's your dream vacation place?
6. What's your favorite book series?
7. If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be and why?
8. Who is your fashion inspiration?
9. What is your go-to accessory?
10. What is your favorite summer activity (beaching, surfing, running, etc)?

Arm Candy? How dandy!

likeprince

Here in New England the weather's still cold and bitter with heavy snows making us feel that winter will never leave. Soon enough temps will get higher, meaning sleeves will get shorter. Sun's out, gun's out right? Well, with our wrists exposed it's time to show off some bling. I love me some arm candy. Whether you stack or just simply wear one bangle or a watch, this is a great way to accessorize this spring and summer. Who needs man candy when you can have arm candy?
